WELCOME HOME SECURES $500,000 IN STATE BUDGET FOR VETERAN PROGRAMS & SERVICES
(Columbia, MO) – As part of Missouri’s Fiscal Year 2026 state operating budget, Welcome Home, Inc. (“Welcome Home”) secured a one-time grant in the amount of $500,000 to support its critical programs and services for veterans.
This significant investment was passed with strong bipartisan support from Missouri legislators. It will strengthen Welcome Home’s efforts to end veteran homelessness and improve the quality of life for those who served.
“Our veteran community has given so much in service to our country. Now it’s our turn to serve them,” said Marcus Glover, USAF Veteran and President of Welcome Home’s Board of Directors. “Welcome Home expresses deep gratitude to Governor Kehoe and members of the Missouri General Assembly for prioritizing veterans and supporting our critical mission.”
The funding will help Welcome Home continue its mission of serving veterans in need today while expanding affordable housing options across Mid‑Missouri. With these resources, the organization is eager to implement strategies that help more veterans quickly secure and maintain permanent housing—ensuring no veteran is left behind.
“Partners, collaborations, and contributions allow Welcome Home to implement sustainable initiatives that create lasting change in the lives of Missouri veterans and their families,” said Megan Sievers, Executive Director of Welcome Home. “This generous state funding will help provide safe and stable shelter, assistance with permanent housing, access to healthcare, employment services, connection to eligible benefits, and other essential wrap‑around supportive services for at‑risk and homeless veterans.”
