OUR VISION

To end Veteran homelessness.

OUR MISSION

Welcome Home works to honor Veterans and restore lives.

About Us

Welcome Home is a non-profit Veteran-centric organization, with a community-based approach, that empowers homeless and at-risk Veterans to return to society as productive self-supporting citizens.

This Veteran-only transitional living program facilitates recovery through social responsibility, personal engagement and individualized programming based upon the needs and goals of the Veteran. Additional wrap-around services for clients address three main long-term goals: residential stability, increased skill level and/or income and greater self-determination of participants.

Most Veterans residing at Welcome Home struggle with physical and/or mental disabilities coupled with chronic instability in employment and housing. Many residents file for VA Disability or Social Security Disability and await determinations, which can take more than two years. Welcome Home’s ability to provide comprehensive wrap-around services to homeless Veterans and their families, as well as those at risk of becoming homeless, and the dedicated leadership from our Veteran-based Board and staff, creates just the right dynamic to help our Veterans get back on their feet.

Our Facility

In September 2017 we moved into a brand-new 32-bedroom, 34 bed facility and can now serve male and female Veterans, as well as families.

The new Welcome Home facility was designed to help veterans build a strong foundation for the future—giving them a chance to escape the hardship of homelessness. Our goal is to enable veterans to get back on their feet and prepare to take the next steps toward living the lives they deserve.

The new Welcome Home facility is fully updated with modern styling and ADA-accessible entrances, along with other features to meet the diverse needs of Mid-Missouri veterans.
