VETERAN CHARITY PICNIC WITH SURPRISE CAR GIVEAWAY, COMMUNITY BUILDING MURAL PROJECT & ONLINE AUCTION
(Columbia, MO) – On Monday, September 13th, 2021 from 5pm-8pm, Welcome Home is teaming up with Rock Bridge Lions Club to host the 4th Annual Charity Picnic, presented by The Giving Branch and featuring The Calvin Street Band. The fundraiser takes place at Logboat Brewing Company, 504 Fay Street, Columbia, MO 65201. All proceeds from the fundraising event will benefit Welcome Home: A Community for Veterans.
The evening features: a surprise car giveaway to one deserving Veteran with Cars4Heroes & Galen’s Auto Body, a special community building mural art project with Wildy’s World, and an online auction and raffle with a fun variety of incredible packages to bid on thanks to so many generous businesses and donors.
“The mission of The Giving Branch is to give love to the communities that we serve, so we are honored to be able to help through a fun, community event like the Welcome Home Charity Picnic,” said Erica Bressman, The Giving Branch administrator. “There should be no Veteran without a warm, safe place to call home, so this is a cause we are proud to get behind.”
This will be the fourth year Rock Bridge Lions Club and Welcome Home have teamed up for this event. “We are humbled by the continued and outpouring of support to raise critical funding for homeless and at-risk Veterans,” said Megan Sievers, Executive Director for Welcome Home. “The Charity Picnic is one of our favorite community events and we love to see everyone come together. We are deeply grateful to the Rock Bridge Lions Club, The Giving Branch, and the community for going above and beyond to help make the event possible again this year.”
Tickets are $30 per person to attend the event in person or drive-thru and include: a meal, two complimentary beverages, and goody bag.
